EASTON, Pa.—The Dartmouth field hockey team closed out a four-game road trip against Lafayette on Sunday. The Big Green fell 5-0 to the Leopards.

The opening 15 minutes saw five shots but no goals as Dartmouth netminder Ava Carlson made three saves in the opening frame. The Big Green earned the only penalty corner in the opening quarter. Ella Boman was credited with a shot for the Big Green. At the midway point of the quarter, Ava Russo batted a ball off the goal line for a defensive save to keep the game scoreless.

Neither team found the back of the cage in the second quarter as there were six total shots. Carlson made two saves in the quarter as Lafayette had three corners in the stanza. Lucia Campano was credited with the lone Dartmouth shot.

The Leopards took a 3-0 lead in the third quarter as they scored all three goals within the first 7:15 of the quarter. Kylie McKinley started the third quarter in the cage and made four saves on seven shots before Carlson came back in.

The Big Green notched a pair of shots in the third quarter.

Lafayette scored twice in the fourth quarter to make it 5-0. The Big Green were credited with one shot in the fourth quarter while Carlson made five saves.

Carlson played nearly 53 minutes for the Big Green while making a season high nine saves.

Amelie Luessmann, Bowman, Campano, Gemma Franco, and Ally Brosie each notched a shot for the Big Green.

After going on the road for four straight games, the Big Green return to Chase Field for four straight games. Dartmouth takes on Columbia on Friday, Oct. 3, UMass Lowell on Sunday, Oct. 5, Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 11, and Holy Cross on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
