HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's lightweight rowing team enjoyed stellar success in the Green Monster on Saturday, a two-race regatta featuring a 5,000 meter stake race turn.

In the morning, Dartmouth bested entries from both Columbia and Bates in smaller boats.

In the afternoon, the Big Green were victorious in the varsity eight and second varsity eight. Dartmouth's varsity finished with a time of 15:33, ahead of Columbia (16:02) and Bates. The 2V posted a time of 16:27, besting Columbia (16:40) and Bates (17:00).Â

"I'm very happy with our results from the weekend," said head coach
Trevor Michelson. "In the first piece contested in small boats, our top 2-, 4-, 4+, and 1x were each able to beat their counterparts from Columbia and Bates. Our freshmen four, driven by first year Abby Galton, was extremely competitive as well. In the afternoon, both eights did a great job racing hard and staying ahead of Columbia and Bates to secure victories.
Â
"I am encouraged by our progress from the Head of the Charles to now, and look forward to watching the guys crush this important block of training from now until our winter training trip in December."
