STORRS, Conn. - The Dartmouth men's and women's track and field teams continued their outdoor season at the UConn Dog Fight on Friday at the George J Sherman Family Sports Complex.
"Some solid efforts from the team today at UConn. For many, this was their season opener. We learned a lot, and we can apply these lessons as we progress through the season. We look forward to next weekend's meets at UMass and Providence. Go Big Green!" Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country Mike Nelson said.
Cate Shelley won the women's discus with her 45.12m throw, earning her first collegiate event win and placing tenth on Dartmouth's top ten record list. Colton McMaster won the men's discus for the Big Green with his 51.52m finish, also placing second in the shot put.
Roy Leibovitz was also the runner-up in the triple jump with his 14.56m finish. As for the track events, Anna Banovac placed third in the 1500m with a final time of 4:42.98.
The Big Green will have more split-squad action next weekend when they participate in the Friar Invitational in Providence, R.I., and the UMass Commonwealth Invitational in Amherst, Mass.
