HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth Big Green and Cornell Big Red took to Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park for the final game of the regular season series Sunday. The Big Green plated six runs in the second inning and never looked back, going on to defeat the Big Red on Senior Day, 7-4.

With the win, Dartmouth extends its win streak to four and moves to 11-21 overall and 8-10 against Ivy League opponents.

Cornell put pressure on the Big Green and starting pitcher
Bryce Loeger early, putting two base runners on in the first inning and loading the bases in the second. Dartmouth was able to get out of trouble, keeping the game knotted at zero early.

The Big Green broke out in the bottom half of the second inning, plating six runs on only two hits and one Cornell error.
Chris Miller led the inning with a walk before
Jackson Hower reached on an error by the Big Red shortstop. Both runners would advance on a wild pitch before
Stefan Di Corrado drew a walk to load the bases.
Another walk scored one run, and the second wild pitch of the inning put Dartmouth up by two.
Taer Rodriguez hit a sacrifice fly for only the second out of the inning, scoring Di Corrado to make it a 3-0 game.

Elliot Krewson singled to score another run and
Camden Rush drew a walk to force Cornell to make a pitching change. A double off the bat of
Ethan Brown only two pitches later scored two more runs, giving Dartmouth a 6-0 lead.

Cornell got one run back in the fourth when a single scored a runner from second, making it a 6-1 game in favor of the Big Green.

Neither team would score again until the seventh when Dartmouth finally got the run back.
Axel Riess drew his second walk of the day to start the inning before Rodriguez singled to advance him to third. Krewson then collected his second RBI of the day, this one on a double, to score Riess and re-extend Dartmouth's lead to six.

Cornell added one run in the eighth and pressured in the ninth, hitting back-to-back solo home runs to cut the Big Green's lead to three, but Dartmouth was able to hold on and secure the 7-4 victory and the series sweep.

Loeger got the start on the mound, earning his first win for one run on five hits in five innings. He scattered three walks and struck out four.

Joseph Chambers pitched one scoreless and hitless inning in his second outing of the weekend.
Danny Will threw the next 1.2 innings, allowing one run on one hit.

Kyle Klaric-Schell wrapped up the eighth inning, getting the final out and allowing one hit.

Jeff Lee and
Trey Sejnoha combined for the final inning of work for the Big Green. Lee allowed two runs on two hits while Sejnoha secured the last out in the ninth.

The Big Green will travel to Merrimack for a midweek nonconference matchup before having the weekend off. They will play their next game on Wednesday, May 7 against Stonehill before wrapping the regular season at home vs. Yale.
