PHILADELPHIA -The Dartmouth men's and women's track and field teams set a program record and rewrote the top-ten all-time lists numerous times while competing at the 129th annual Penn Relays from Thursday to Saturday.Â
"The team had not been to the Penn Relays in a few years, and it was exciting to be back at such a historic meet. We had several great performances, including a new school record and a victory in the women's college 4x800m," Mike Nelson, the Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country, said.Â
Murray, Anna Banovac, Julia Pye, and Bella Pietrasiewicz took the title in the women's 4x800 college division, finishing with a fourth all-time best time of 8:41.63. In the women's 5000m, Madeleine Locher put herself at fifth all-time with her 16:12.30 mark.Â
Jack Inglis, Bryce Thomas, Richards-Baker, and Intihar put themselves at second all-time in the men's 4x100, clocking a 40.93 finish and marking the third time this season that the all-time records list for this event has been rewritten.Â
"Overall, we had a lot of fun, and that's what it's supposed to be about! The team is gaining steam as we approach the championship portion of our season. One more tune-up meet next weekend, and then it's HEPS! Go Big Green." Nelson said.Â
The Big Green will compete in their final regular-season meet when they travel to Providence, R.I., for the Brown Springtime Invitational next Saturday.Â
