HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth sailing team wrapped up its fall schedule this weekend, competing in three regattas and finishing second, fifth and eighth, respectively. Amongst the regattas was the Big Green's fall conference championships: the Urn Trophy (women's) and Schell Trophy (open).
The Urn Trophy was hosted by Harvard, which saw Dartmouth finish second overall. The Big Green had 72 points in the A Division and 37 in the B Division to account for 109 points, just two points behind first-place Brown (107). Dartmouth was in third place after the first day and worked up to first, holding the lead all the way until the last race, as Brown, Harvard and Dartmouth battled in the final races.
Dartmouth's A Division finished in the top five in seven of the 12 races, including a stretch of five straight races — placing fourth, third, third, fourth and fifth, respectively. The B Division had five first-place finishes and 10 top-four finishes, including 10 straight from the second through 11th races.
Competing for the Schell Trophy hosted by MIT, the Big Green finished fifth overall. Dartmouth tallied 201 points — 123 in the A Division and 78 in the B Division. The A Division was highlighted by four top-four finishes, in races four, five, 11 and 13. Dartmouth placed third in the B Division, with three first-place finishes and eight top-five finishes out of the 14 total races.
The Big Green also competed for the Nickerson Trophy, a first-year interconference event hosted by Tufts, coming in eighth with 207 points — 122 in the A Division and 85 in the B Division. The A Division finished top eight in six of the 14 races, including five-of-seven between races six and 13. The B Division was top 10 in all but one race, with top four finishes in five of them.
With this weekend marking the end of fall events, the Big Green women finished at the top of the New England performance ranking for fall, 2025.
