HANOVER, N.H. – Ola Goebel was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
The junior goalkeeper played a massive role in Dartmouth's scoreless tie over Brown on Saturday, recording a career high of seven saves against the top offensive team in the Ivy League.
"We're so proud of Ola for earning Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week. She was outstanding this weekend—calm, composed, and commanding against the top attack in the league," Taylor Schram, the Stacy Branca '94 Head Coach of Women's Soccer, said. "Her performance reflects her growth, preparation, and the confidence she brings to our defensive unit every day. This recognition is well-deserved and a great testament to her hard work and consistency."
Goebel's dominance in goal helped Dartmouth get its league-high eighth shutout of the season and her fifth clean sheet of the season. With Goebel's help, Dartmouth leads the league in fewest goals allowed (6) and boasts a league-best .842% save percentage.
The Big Green will return to Burnham Field when hosting Princeton next Saturday at 3:00 p.m. for Youth Soccer Day. You can purchase tickets here, or you can follow the live stats on DartmouthSports.com.
