PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A hard-fought battle between two of the Ivy League's top women's soccer teams culminated in a scoreless draw between Dartmouth and Brown on Saturday afternoon.
"I thought we put in a really strong performance tonight. We showed toughness, grit, and composure to earn a hard-fought point on the road. I'm really proud of the way our group competed and stayed connected throughout the match. It was a complete team effort and a great reflection of our mentality as we remain at the top of the table."
Taylor Schram, the Stacy Branca '94 Head Coach of Women's Soccer, said.
Ola Goebel shone in goal once again for the Big Green, earning her fifth clean sheet of the season and making seven saves.
With the tie, Dartmouth improves to 6-2-4 on the season and remains the only undefeated team in Ivy League play with a 2-0-2 conference record.
The Bears opened the first half by outshooting Dartmouth 4-1. Dartmouth's strong defense, highlighted by Goebel's dominance in net, allowed the Big Green to keep the game close.
Entering the final 45 minutes of play, Dartmouth had an offensive spark that allowed it to remain neck and neck with its Ivy League rival. The Big Green closed out the second half with five shots, one being on goal.
The Big Green will get another chance to add a third win to their conference record when hosting Princeton next Saturday at 3:00 p.m. for Youth Soccer Day. You can purchase tickets
