HANOVER, N.H. — The Woods Watch Party returns for its eighth week with the NBCSports broadcast of the Dartmouth football game against Brown at Fenway Park in 2017 as part of the Fenway Gridiron Series. The stream on the Dartmouth Football YouTube channel will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. and is sponsored by The Richards Group.
This was the Big Green's seventh game ever at Fenway Park but first in 73 years since a loss to Notre Dame at the venue. Dartmouth had won its first five games at the oldest venue in Major League Baseball dating back to 1914 (two years after it first opened), including two over Brown in 1922 and 1923.
The Big Green came into the game with a 6-2 overall record and 4-2 mark in the Ivy League, including a shutout win the previous week over Cornell. With just two games left in the season, seven of the eight teams in the league still had a shot at winning at least a share of the conference crown, and there was still the possibility of an unprecedented seven-way tie for first if everything shook out just right. The one team that was eliminated from the race happened to be the team Dartmouth was up against, the Brown Bears.
Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, there will not be any coaches or former players commenting this week. Instead, the original video broadcast will be introduced by Tyler Murray, who will still serve as the host during the stream.
