PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Freshmen Charlie Broom and David Horneffer were both victorious in their singles matches on the fourth day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championship on Sunday.
In the Round of 16, Broom defeated Timothy Wang of Columbia (6-4, 6-1), while Horneffer had a very close 7-6, 7-6 win over Harvard's Brian Yeung.
Senior Diego Pedraza and sophomore Roko Glasnovic saw their regionals journey come to an end in the Round of 16 with a, 8-7 loss to Thomas Caputo and Kushaan Nath of Binghamton.
Broom and Horneffer will play in the quarterfinals on Monday.
