PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On Saturday, the Big Green traveled to Providence, Rhode Island to take on the Brown Bears for the first game of Ivy League play.
The Big Green got out to a slow start, and Brown capitalized on their mistakes, going on to defeat Dartmouth, 2-1. With the loss, Dartmouth falls to 1-3-3 overall and 0-1 in Ivy League play.
Brown opened the scoring in the eighth minute. Dartmouth misplayed the ball just outside the box before the Bears were able to gain possession and beat
Konstantinos Dellas to put themselves up, 1-0.
Despite the Big Green being out possessed through the first 45 minutes, tallying only two shots to Brown's seven, the game remained 1-0 in favor of the Bears headed into halftime.
Just under two minutes into the second half, the Big Green committed a foul. Lorenzo Amaral sent the ball into the box, finding a Dartmouth head the redirected the ball behind Dellas and into the net for an own goal, giving Brown a 2-0 lead.
As the second half continued, the Big Green started to click, maintaining possession and creating chances. In the second 45 minutes, Dartmouth recorded four shots, doubling its total from the first half.

st minute, Dartmouth found the back of the net, pulling them within one.
James Wilson sent the ball into the box, finding Douglas Arveskar. The junior won a battle, sending the ball in front of the net. It ricocheted off the Bears and right to
Will Lulka, who one touched it in for his second of the season, making it a 2-1 game.
The Big Green continued to push, but Brown held on to defeat Dartmouth, 2-1.
After two straight road games, Dartmouth will return home next weekend for their first Ivy League game at Burnham Field. The Big Green will welcome the Cornell Big Red on Saturday, October 4 for a 6 p.m. kickoff. There will also be postgame autographs with the team following the game.
The men's game will be the second of a soccer doubleheader at Burnham Field. The women will host Columbia at 2 p.m.
