NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Dartmouth Big Green continued a stretch of three straight road games Saturday, traveling to Connecticut for an Ivy League matchup with the Yale Bulldogs.
The Big Green were searching for their second straight win in the 2025 campaign as well as against the Bulldogs, with an opportunity to pull even in conference play.
Yale was dominant defensively for most of the game, giving up only three Big Green shots, but made a mistake in the 73
rd minute, allowing the Big Green to come away with the 1-0 victory. Dartmouth moves to 3-4-3 overall and 2-2 in Ivy League play.
Dartmouth and Yale were even with shots on goal in the first half, each tallying one. Both goalkeepers made the one save asked of them, sending the game knotted at zero into halftime.
In the 42
nd minute,
TJ Jeffreys exited the game, giving way to
Konstantinos Dellas for the remainder of the game. Dellas stood tall, making two saves in the final 49 minutes.
In the 73
rd minute, the Big Green drew a corner.
Will Lulka sent the ball into the box, looking for
Eidur Baldvinsson. The sophomore drew three defenders, and the ball landed on the head of a Bulldog, finding its way into the back of the net to give Dartmouth a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs drew two corners in the final 17 minutes, but the Big Green held strong defensively, hanging on for the 1-0 victory.
Dartmouth has now won two straight games against the Yale Bulldogs and three of the last five. With three conference games to play, the Big Green are currently in sole possession of third place in the Ivy League standings, one point ahead of Penn who they will face next weekend.
The Big Green will return to action Tuesday, October 21, wrapping nonconference play with a midweek game at UMass. Conference play will continue next Saturday, October 25 when Dartmouth hosts Penn for Youth Soccer Night.
