HANOVER, N.H. – Senior Gillian Apps (Unionville, Ont.) increased her point streak to eight games today, as she netted the game winning goal against the Eagles of Boston College, giving Dartmouth a, 2-1, win at Thompson Arena.

The Big Green got things started in the second minute of the first period, when senior Caroline Ethier (Matagami, Que.) skated into the Boston zone and wristed a shot on net from the right side. With traffic in front of the cage, Eagle's goalie Molly Schaus was caught off guard, allowing Ethier's shot to dribble through her legs.

Six minutes later, the Eagles answered back with a tally of their own. Freshman Allie Thunstrom scored her 13^th goal of the season on a breakaway high over the glove of Big Green netminder Carli Clemis (Taber, Alta.). Thunstrom's team-leading goal evened the score at one apiece.

Dartmouth struck back at 12:56, when Apps stole the puck from the Eagle's defense on their breakout attempt. Apps used the defender as a screen before she rifled a shot past Schaus, giving the Big Green another lead. With Apps' goal, she extends her point streak to eight games.

The second period saw a number of scoring chances, but no goals. Dartmouth out shot the Eagles, 8-5, in the period, but left it in the hands of the third to determine the winner.

Not unlike the second, the third period was full of action, but no goals. Again, the Big Green out shot the Eagles, but both goaltenders kept their respective teams alive until the final seconds.

With 1:08 left on the clock, the Eagles pulled their goalie for the extra-skater advantage. But the fore checking, and solid defensive play by the Big Green preserved the non-conference win by the score of 2-1.

With the win, Dartmouth moves to 12-3-1 overall, while the Eagles drop to 11-5-1.

The Big Green will be back in action again next weekend as they host Quinnipiac and Princeton in two weekend league games.
