Dartmouth Finishes Second In Third Tournament of 2025-26
LAKE PLACID, N.Y.—The Dartmouth men's golf team finished second at The Autumn Invitational in Lake Placid, N.Y. Along with the team finishing second, first-year Luke Harper won the tournament with a score of -9. As a team, Dartmouth was a -11 with a pair of players under par for the tournament.
Harper started the tournament with a -3 68 in the first of three rounds. He used five birdies to start the tournament strong. In the second round on Saturday, he notched a birdie on four to go -1, after three bogeys on seven, nine, and 11 he posted an eagle on the par five 13. He ended the round with three birdies on the last five holes to finish -3. He started on the fourth hole for the third and final round, he birdied five and ended his round with a birdie to finish -3 for the third straight round. The win is his first collegiate win.
Tyler Brand finished tied for fourth as he finished the weekend -6. He came out and shot a +1 72 in the first round but put up a -3 68 in the second round. He used birdies on five, 12, 13, and 17 while having just one bogey. Brand used two eagles on Sunday to move up 10 positions with a -4 67. It is the first time this season that Brand finished in the top five.
Ian Davis shot +4 on the weekend as he finished tied for 25th. In the opening round he shot a 74 to finish +3. In the second round he shot a +2 73 with a pair of birdies and 12 pars. On Sunday, he birdied three of the last four holes to shoot a 70 to close out the tournament.
Benjamin Wang placed 29th for the Big Green as he finished +5 on the weekend. He opened the tournament with a +1 72 which featured four birdies. In his second round on Saturday, he shot a +1 72 with four birdies once again. On Sunday, he posted a +3 74 while having birdies on eight, 13, and 15.
Finlay Szafnauer was the fifth player in the Dartmouth lineup as he finished 58th at +13. He shot a 69 in the first round to finish -2. In the second round he had a pair of birdies as he shot a 76. On Sunday, he shot an 81 to close out the tournament.
Cameron Keith, Aaron Zhang, and Colin Keith each played as independents. Ca. Keith finished tied for 47th as he finished +10 after shooting 73-76-74. Zhang finished tied for 56th at +12, he shot 76-72-77 over the three-round tournament. Co. Keith finished 62nd after shooting 73-76-79 for a +15.
The Big Green are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 5 and Monday, Oct. 6 at the Matthews Auto Collegiate hosted by Binghamton. The tournament will take place at The Links at Hiawatha Landing.
