AUSTIN, Texas – Five members of the Dartmouth softball team have been named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

Alaana Panu,
Lauren Ben-Ezra and
Jensin Hall were the student athletes recognized.

To be selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team, student athletes must maintain a 3.50 GPA and make a significant contribution to the team on the field.

After missing the majority of last season with an injury, Brown came back stronger in her senior season with Dartmouth to earn her second team recognition. She played in 35 games for the Big Green while starting 33 of them. She finished second on the team in batting average with .321 and tied for second in runs scored with 23. She had a total of 26 total hits this past season and ended the season with a nearly perfect .939 fielding percentage. After the conclusion of the season, she was named All-Ivy Second Team and was the team's Ivy League All-Academic honoree. In the classroom, Brown is a government major and minors in education and holds the highest GPA on the team.

McCarroll pitched 57.0 innings with 13 starts and 19 appearances for the Big Green in her senior season while recording 34 strikeouts throughout. She punched out a season high six versus Rhode Island. McCarroll pitched a complete game and earned a win at eventual Ivy League Champion Brown. She struck out four and only allowed one run. In the classroom, she studies economics and psychology.

Panu was dominant in her final season with the Big Green, playing in and starting all 38 games. She led the team in multiple categories throughout the season including batting average (.362), slugging percentage (.630), hit by pitch (12), runs scored (40), hits (46), stolen bases (27), runs batted in (37), at bats (127), home runs (6), and total bases (80). She also led the Ivy League in runs scored and stolen bases. In addition, her 27 stolen bases broke the single season record and also put her first in career stolen bases with 49. In the field, she was perfect, ending the season with a 1.000 fielding percentage. The First Team All-Ivy honor marked the fifth straight year the Big Green have had a unanimous first team selection and Panu was also named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Third Team All-Region. In the classroom, Panu studies government.

Ben-Ezra played in 35 games for the Big Green this season and started 33 of them. She recorded a career high five putouts in the field twice during the season, versus Purdue and Princeton. She tied a career high when she had three hits in the team's victory over Brown. In the classroom she studies government.

In her sophomore season, Hall appeared in 27 games with 17 starts. She punched out a of 106 batters over 130 total innings. The 106 strikeouts ranked tied for second in the Ivy League while the 130 innings pitched also placed her second in the league. She led the team in wins with 10 along with ERA at 3.12 and opposing batting average with .216. Hall was perfect in the field with a 1.000 fielding percentage and on top of her 106 strikeouts, added 14 assists. Hall was named an Ivy League Honorable Mention for her play on the field. In the classroom, Hall studies engineering sciences and holds the second highest GPA on the team.
