HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's lacrosse team outscored Brown 6-0 in the second quarter to take a commanding 8-2 halftime lead, and the Big Green wouldn't look back in a 13-9 win on Senior Day Saturday afternoon. The win marked Dartmouth's first against the Bears since 2007, giving the Big Green a second Ivy League victory for the first time since 2010.
Mason Morel continued his sensational season with 20 saves, his second 20+ save performance in the last four games.

With the win, Dartmouth improves to 8-4 and 2-3 in the Ivy League. The eight victories mark the Big Green's most since 2006.

"So happy to send our seniors off with a win," said Dartmouth head coach
Sean Kirwan. "Our last chance to do that on Scully-Fahey Field. This is a group that came in and had big goals to leave a place cleaner than they found it, put an exclamation mark on this season with a win today. Just so thrilled for them for all the work they've put in."

Alex Jessey led the Big Green with a career-high four goals while
Thomas Power (three goals, one assist) and
Emmett Paradine (two goals, two assists) had four points as well.
Colin McGill,
Tyler Juhlin and
Nate Davis each recorded a goal and assist.

Defensively,
Thomas Goguen collected a career-high eight groundballs while
Colin Fagan recorded three groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Spencer Reagan was sensational facing off, winning 15-of-24 draws with a career-high 10 groundballs.

Brown opened the scoring just 2:15 into the game, but the Big Green responded with two straight and eight of the next nine. The only Bears' goal came with one second left in the first quarter to even the score at two.
It was all Dartmouth in the second, holding a 6-0 edge with goals from five different scorers. Paradine began the scoring with a tough-angle goal at 10:12. Goals from
Brandon Ventarola and Jessey at 9:32 and 8:49, respectively, quickly gave the Big Green a 5-2 lead. Jessey's second straight followed by scores from Juhlin and McGill gave Dartmouth an 8-2 halftime advantage.
The teams exchanged goals in the third quarter to send the game into the fourth with Dartmouth leading, 10-4.

The Big Green quickly made the score 12-4 early in the fourth before a Brown surge featuring three goals in 2:26 pulled the Bears within 12-7 with 9:36 still remaining. However, that's as close as they would come.

"Wins are not easy in this league," said Kirwan. "We know that. I just felt today, we played our brand of lacrosse, and that showed, so it's always nice when you can play Dartmouth lacrosse and come away with a win. Really something to be excited about."

Dartmouth finished with a 42-41 edge in shots while the Big Green held a 50-41 advantage in groundballs. Dartmouth was 1-for-3 on the extra man. Morel made 20 saves while a trio of Brown goalkeepers combined for 19, led by 17 from Connor Foley.

"When we were freshmen, we always said we wanted to make this place better than when we found it," said Morel. "And I can confidently say after today especially, we're in the right direction. I'm confident that the guys after me will be able to continue [the positive momentum]. For us seniors, this means a lot, especially winning here on our last day. It's pretty special."

The Big Green wrap up their season next Saturday when they travel to No. 1 Cornell to face the Big Red. Opening faceoff is set for 12 p.m.
