PRINCETON, N.J.—The Ivy League announced their weekly awards on Monday for volleyball. Following a weekend sweep, Dartmouth outside hitter Kauany Gutz has been named Ivy League Player of the Week.
Gutz was a catalyst for a Dartmouth offense that defeated the Ivy League leader Cornell on Friday night. She ended the five-set match with 15 kills , 15 digs, one block assist and four service aces. She totaled 19.5 points in the win to lead Dartmouth. On Saturday, she notched her third straight double double as she had 14 kills on 26 attempts for a .385 hitting percentage. Along with her 14 kills she notched 11 digs and one service ace.
On the weekend, she totaled 29 kills and hit .238. She also totaled 26 digs with 37 receptions and five service aces. This season she has a team high 203 kills along with 173 digs and 243 points.
The Big Green close out the home portion of the schedule this weekend as Brown and Yale travel to Hanover. Friday's match against Brown is slated for 6 PM while Saturday's match against Yale is scheduled for 5 PM. Prior to the match, Dartmouth will honor it's senior class.
