HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth women's hockey player Cally Dixon and Grayson Saunier of Dartmouth football have been named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male athlete or team, one female athlete or team– as Athletes of the Week.
Cally Dixon, Woodbridge, Conn., Sr., Women's Hockey
Cally Dixon scored two goals on Friday night in the Big Green's 4-2 upset win over No. 9/No. 8 Colgate. Dixon opened the scoring for Dartmouth on the power play, knotting the game at one at the halfway mark at the first period. She would then help seal the victory in the third, scoring the empty net goal after Dartmouth killed off nearly two minutes of 6-on-5 Colgate pressure. Dixon's three goals and three points are both the team high.
Grayson Saunier, Jr., Lafayette, La., Football
Junior Grayson Saunier enjoyed a stellar effort in Dartmouth's 49-3 win over Columbia. He finished 12-of-13 for 162 yards and a touchdown passing while adding 55 rushing yards on six carries and three rushing scores. He now leads the Big Green with eight rushing touchdowns. Saunier finished with a 92.3 completion percentage, becoming just the fifth quarterback in the FCS this season with a 90+ completion percentage (minimum 10 completions) and first Ivy League quarterback with a 90+ completion percentage since Jake Willcox of Brown was 14-for-15 against Penn on Oct. 29, 2022. Saunier's three rushing touchdowns marked a career high, and marked the second time in the last four games dating back to last season that Dartmouth has had a quarterback rush for three TDs in a game.
