HANOVER, N.H.-- The Dartmouth equestrian team opened its 2025-26 season with a 7-3 victory over Centenary College on Sunday at Morton Farm.
Samantha Takacs '27, Cassidy Exner '27, and Grace Russo '29 all won their individual fence matchups (84-74, 85-73, and 78-60) giving the Big Green a 3-2 lead at the half. C. Exner took home the meet's Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) over fences.
"We have been really focused in practices with this long lead up to our first competition," said head coach Tenley Walsh. "I was happy to see our training translate into strong rides right out of the gate."
Following the break, Dartmouth took four of the five flat matchups to secure the team victory. Takacs and Exner won their second points of the day (77-70, 82-75) and first-years Lucinda Exner and Camilla Jerng (82-81, 87-81) joined Russo in earning team points in their first collegiate appearances.
"I'm proud of Grace, Camilla, and Lucy who all won their points stepping into the ring for the first time, they have been working hard since day one" said Coach Walsh. "We felt the immediate impact of these first-year athletes."
The Big Green continue their fall season on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Noon when they host the College of Charleston in a rematch of the ECAC SD Championship and NCEA SD National Championship from a season ago.
