Dartmouth Plays Well at Connecticut State Championship

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Dartmouth men's tennis competed at the Connecticut State Championship over the weekend, returning to Hanover after going 9-6 against some tough opponents.

In doubles, junior Peter Conklin and sophomore Sacha Pritzker went 2-0, first defeating a pair from Sacred Heart by a score of 6-3 before taking down a duo from Yale in a very close match, 7-6(6). Junior Dan Martin and freshman Alejandro Quiles went 1-1, beating a BC duo, 7-5.

Martin went undefeated in singles action, defeating Yale's Dylan King in three sets and Chris Grasel of BC. Conklin, Quiles, freshman Dominik Pauli and junior Gilbert Jaeger all went 1-1 in their matches.

Seniors Charlie Broom and David Horneffer will compete at the ITA National Fall Championship in Newport Beach, California, from Nov. 6-10. The rest of the Big Green squad will play at the Bear Invitational this weekend.
