HANOVER, N.H. – The Big Green men's tennis team opened play on day one of the two-day Dartmouth Invitational on Friday, welcoming Buffalo, Boston University, Brown, Harvard and Yale to the Boss Tennis Center, winning six of their eight matches.

In singles, freshman
Sid Chari defeated Buffalo's Valdemar Holm, 6-2, 6-4 in the A1 flight, while sophomore
Casey Ross dropped two close sets to his opponent from BU. In the A2 flight, sophomore
John Speicher and senior
Roko Glasnovic were both victorious, defeating players from Buffalo and BU.

The Big Green went 2-0 in the remaining two singles flights; sophomore
Gilbert Jaeger had a 6-2, 6-3 win over Brown's Teddy Van Eck, and freshman
Sacha Pritzker took down Jonah Murphy of Buffalo, 7-6, 6-3.

In doubles action, Speicher paired up with freshman
Pierce Widdecombe to take down a duo from Brown, 8-7, while Pritzker and Chari fell to their Buffalo opponents by the same score.

Dartmouth will return to the court for day two on Saturday morning.
