HARTFORD, CONN. – An 18-point second half from senior Jason Meyer (Covington, Ohio) couldn't boost the Big Green men's basketball team past the University of Hartford as drop their fifth game in a row, 60-50.

A struggling Dartmouth squad couldn't find the bucket in the first half, as they went 12 minutes without a field goal, and putting up a total of 13 points going into the locker room. Hartford spread out its scoring early in the game, having seven different players finding the hole and posting 31 points going into the half.

The second half the Big Green came out of the gates fired up, but in an 18 point hole. The Hawks couldn't contain the Big Green off the start as Dartmouth scored on eight of its first 11 possessions.

Leading the way for the Big Green was Meyer who ended the night making 8-of-14 from the field for 18 points. Junior Johnathan Ball (Memphis, Tenn.) also posted a double-digit afternoon putting up 12 for the Big Green squad. Ball also led the team in rebounds on the day grabbing five.

Midway through the second half, however, the Hawks regained their edge and began to run away with it. A few costly Dartmouth turnovers late in the game sealed the deal for Hartford who wins its first game of the season.

With the loss the Big Green fall to 0-5 on the season. Dartmouth will battle the No. 12 team in the nation on Tuesday, Nov. 28, when they travel to Kansas.
