Swann opens up to DartmouthSports.com on various topics
DartmouthSports.com:Â What have you been doing during your sophomore summer?
Isiah Swann:Â So far I have been training with the team, hanging out with friends, studying for class and playing Fortnite occasionally.
DartmouthSports.com:Â What was it in the recruiting process that sold you on Dartmouth?
IS:Â The coaching staff and the culture sold me on coming to Dartmouth. Coach Teevens is one of the most genuine people I have ever met and I loved the feeling that he cared for my success as a person rather than just caring about how well I could play for him. I loved how close the players were on my visit and the team truly is one big family that I really wanted to be a part of.
DartmouthSports.com:Â If you could play another sport at Dartmouth, what would it be and why?
IS: If I could play another sport at Dartmouth it would be basketball because that was my second sport growing up and I will always have love for it. I was a hustle, defense and rebound guy before everyone grew and I stayed the same height.
DartmouthSports.com:Â What has been your best on-field memory thus far in your Dartmouth career?
IS: The best on field memory for me was when we came back to win against Yale. I had a pick 6 late in the first half and the game came down to a last-second Hunnicutt touchdown. That was one of the best games I have ever been a part of and my first collegiate pick 6.Â
DartmouthSports.com:Â How is Hanover different or similar to where you grew up?
IS:Â Hanover is very different from my hometown. Coming from Arizona where it is brutally hot, I had to adjust to the winter of Hanover. My freshman year the football team gave me my first winter jacket ever. Also I have never been surrounded with so much forest in my life. Arizona only has palm trees and cacti scattered around, so seeing nothing but trees for miles took some getting used to.
DartmouthSports.com:Â What's the app you use most on your phone?
IS:Â TWITTER. It is my source of news, sports, keeping up with friends and entertainment.
DartmouthSports.com:Â What show do you binge watch?
IS:Â I have binge watched many shows but my favorites would be Orange is the New Black, Shameless, Last Chance U and Big Mouth.
DartmouthSports.com:Â You step outside tomorrow morning and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million (after taxes). What would you do with the money?
IS:Â After winning 10 million I am paying off my student loans, and my family and I are going on the best vacation I can put together to the Caribbean. I would buy a brand new Tesla and save a couple million until I know where I am living to buy myself a mansion in my desired location. I would then save the rest of the money for other trips around the world and for anything cool that comes out in the future.
DartmouthSports.com:Â What are your post-Dartmouth plans?
IS:Â After Dartmouth I want to try and make it to the NFL. That has been the dream since I was 5 years old. Not including football, I don't know exactly what I want to do, but I am pretty sure Dartmouth can help me get somewhere.
DartmouthSports.com:Â What would be your best advice to your 15-year-old self?
IS:Â My advice to my 15-year-old self would be to take all the AP classes you possibly can. You may not know it or can even think it is possible for you, but you will be attending an Ivy League school you have never heard of and these classes will only help you when you get there.
