Cook, Quarterbacks Shine In JV Action Against Norwich

HANOVER, N.H. — All three of Joseph Cook's catches were highlight-reel worthy and Bruce Dixon IV and Harry Kraft were a combined 7-for-7 passing with a touchdown apiece during the team portion of the Dartmouth junior varsity's non-scoring scrimmage with Norwich University Sunday.

The 6-foot-6 Cook went high above a defender and held on as he hit the ground for a 24-yard grab from Darryl Mobley at the 2 for his first grab. Two plays later Miles Smith ran in from the 5 for the touchdown. No extra points were kicked.

Dartmouth also scored on its second possession as Dixon (3-for-3 for 23 yards) drilled a pass to Cook in the right corner of the end zone that the big receiver cradled in traffic for a score.

After an interception short-circuited the Big Green's next possession Kraft (4-for-4 for 66 yards) tossed up a fourth-and-19 pass that Cook brought in as he hit the turf for a 31-yard gain. Six plays later the QB hit Charles Mack from nine yards out to cap the four-possession scrimmaging portion of the afternoon.

Kevin Muzzi had two catches for 26 yards during the scrimmage and Kevin Barrett two for 12.

The afternoon's action kicked off with pass skeleton (no lines, no tackling) that saw Drew Hunnicutt catch five balls for 121 yards and a touchdown, Cook five for 66 and two touchdowns, Barrett five for 72 yards and Muzzi three for 63 yards with a 39-yard touchdown.
The only rushing came in the scrimmage portion of the day. Miles Smith had three carries for 17 yards and the touchdown during Dartmouth's four possessions.

On the defensive side during the scrimmaging, Rivers Cahee and Jimmy McHugh had three tackles while Brandon Chu had two. McHugh came from the far side to chase down the quarterback for one of his two sacks. Brennan Cascarano also had a sack. Kalil Washington batted two passes at the line while Nick Peart had an interception and Bun Straton the hit of the day.

During the pass skel, Jimmy Knight had an interception and Ross Wood and Peart each registered a pair of breakups.
