TV Time for the Big Green
• Dartmouth's game at Quinnipiac is the only one on the Big Green schedule slated to be televised, with NESN broadcasting the contest.
• Last year the Green had just one game on TV, and that worked out pretty well — a thrilling 63-60 victory over Penn shown on Comcast.
• This is Dartmouth's first game after Christmas, which hopefully ends better than the last one before the holiday, a 63-44 loss at home to Colgate.
• Senior Marlon Sanders became the seventh player to lead the team in scoring over the first 11 games, tallying 13 points against the Raiders.
• No other Dartmouth player besides Sanders had more than six points in the game.
• The Big Green failed to knock down a single three-pointer, snapping a 70-game streak of at least one Dartmouth trifecta.
• In addition to its lack of treys, the Green shot a season-low 33.9 percent (19-of-56) from the floor.
• Sophomore Jabari Trotter has missed the last two games while sophomore Herve Kouna sat out the last six, both due to injuries, but are both hopeful for this game.
Series vs. Quinnipiac
• This meeting makes it a dozen for these two schools on the hardwood with the Bobcats holding a 7-4 edge.
• Last year Quinnipiac nipped Dartmouth at Leede Arena by a 76-74 final with the Bobcats scoring the final seven points of the game in the last 1:08.
• This is the 11th straight year these two teams have played each other, with the first meeting taking place on Dec. 11, 1999 — an 85-72 Bobcat triumph.
• Only once have the Big Green won in Hamden, that coming on Dec. 18, 2001 in a hard-fought 70-68 victory. Dartmouth has lost the last three on Quinnipiac's home court.
Scouting the Bobcats
• Quinnipiac brings its straight-up 5-5 record into the game, having gone 2-0 against other Ivy League schools (71-64 over Yale and 63-51 over Columbia in its last game).
• The two schools have had three common opponents thus far, with both beating Hartford, and both losing to Lehigh and Vermont.
• The Bobcats rely heavily on the trio of James Feldeine, Justin Rutty and James Johnson, with Feldeine averaging 19 points a game.
• Part of Feldeine's scoring prowess is due to his accurate free throw shooting at 81.4 percent (35-of-43).
• Quinnipiac does not rely much on the three-pointer, shooting just 28.5 percent as a team. Feldeine leads the team with just 11 trifectas.
• Rutty averages better than a double-double every time on the court with nearly 16 points and more than 10 rebounds a game. He shoots 55.8 percent from the floor, but just 53.2 percent from the foul line.
• The point guard Johnson chips in 10.4 points a game while dishing out four assists.
• The Bobcats absolutely pound the boards, corralling 41 a game compared to just 31 for their opponents.
Sanders Lucky Seven
In the first 11 games, Dartmouth has had no less than seven players lead the team in scoring. The most recent addition to the group is senior Marlon Sanders, who put up 13 points in a 63-44 loss to Colgate on Dec. 22. Sophomore Jabari Trotter has topped the Big Green three times, while senior Robby Pride and sophomore David Rufful have done so twice each.
Three Not So Magic for the Green
When Dartmouth failed to sink a single three-point attempt against Colgate, it ended a streak of 70 straight games with at least one trey. The last team to hold the Green without a three-ball was Brown on Feb. 17, 2007.
