HANOVER, N.H. — Shawn Bode caught a 10-yard touchdown pass and sealed off the last defender on a nine-yard scoring run by freshman classmate Billy Bradshaw as the Dartmouth jayvees scored on their first two touches while closing out their season with a 14-12 win over Bridgton Sunday afternoon.
With no other quarterback available, senior Max Heiges played the entire game despite a gimpy ankle and completed 9-of-17 passes for 69 yards and one touchdown. He also pushed behind the line for a five-yard gain on a key quarterback sneak in the fourth quarter after Bridgton had rallied from a 14-0 first-quarter deficit to within two points.
Bradshaw led Dartmouth with 11 rushes for 62 yards and one touchdown. Jeremy Rick was right behind with 12 carries for 59 yards, with two 18-yarders coming just a few snaps apart in a time-consuming final drive that iced the win.
Corey Vann had three catches for 23 yards to pace the air attack.
On the defensive side, Royce Egeolu, Alex Douglas and Cole Pembroke each had interceptions while Teddy Reed had a fumble recovery. Egeolu, Douglas and Alex Shulman each had eight tackles while Chase Womack contributed seven.
The junior varsity finishes its season with a 3-1 record.
