Dartmouth's Homecoming Weekend festivities on October 19-20 will include special recognition for Reggie Williams '76, the Big Green's newest member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
During halftime ceremonies of the Columbia-Dartmouth game, Williams will be presented with his framed Hall of Fame certificate. Representing the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame to make the presentation will be Jake Crouthamel '60, a member of the Football Foundation's Honors Court. Crouthamel was Dartmouth's football coach when Williams earned All-America honors as a linebacker in 1975.
Williams earned numerous honors during his playing career at Dartmouth from 1973-75 including three-time selection to the All-Ivy League first team. He went on to play for 14 seasons in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals.
As Homecoming Weekend unfolds on Friday evening, Williams will also be recognized as he rides in the parade through Hanover to the traditional pep rally beneath the tower of Dartmouth Hall and the Class of 2011 bonfire on the Green.
On December 4 in New York City, Williams and 11 other All-Americans plus two coaches will be honored as members of the Hall of Fame's Class of 2007. A sellout gathering of 1,500 will be on hand for the Football Foundation's annual dinner in the grand ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
