No. 77 Mike Shannon
Background: A fifth-year senior who saw time at center last spring. Shannon returned after missing the 2004 season as a result of a calf injury that became infected and ultimately developed into potentially fatal toxic shock syndrome. He's become a two-year starter, and last year won the Lester R. Godwin Award, presented to the player “who, through extraordinary perseverance has risen above personal disadvantage to contribute measurably to the team.” In high school, Shannon earned 11 letters in three different sports at Belmont Hill School. He guided his team to three straight Independent School League championships and one New England Prep School title.

What disc is in your CD player, or if you listen to mp3's or an IPod, what do you listen to: My IPod is broken, so I guess I'll have to sing to myself.
Favorite food: A nice steak.
Favorite movie: Wedding Crashers.
If you could have dinner with any three people, past or present, who would they be: Well I would want to have dinner with my family, but there are more than three people in it so I guess I would have to settle for Mahatma Ghandi, Jesus Christ and
Brian Osimiri.
Your prized possession: A picture of my family and I when I received an award in high school.
Best football memory: Beating Harvard my sophomore year.
What's your favorite thing to do when you're not playing football: Sleeping, golf, eating, watching TV...not necessarily all in that order, of course.
Most memorable experience from your LSA/FSP or leave-term job: I did a law internship in Boston. The most memorable experience was actually sitting in the courtroom and watching cases unfold live.
