GLENDALE, Colo. – Dartmouth women’s rugby wrapped up the spring and the 2018 Rugby 7s National Championship at Infinity Park on Sunday, finishing in eighth place.

The Big Green narrowly fell to Harvard, 26-24, tying the score three times and almost tying it up again in the final minute of play, but falling just one conversion short. Later on in the day, Dartmouth had a 27-10 loss to Davenport.

"The eight-team format of this year's tournament meant that every game would be an all-out battle," head coach Katie Dowty said. "We had highs and lows throughout the tournament, learned a lot about ourselves and gained valuable experience that will drive and motivate us moving forward."

Camille Johnson had another good day, scoring twice against the Crimson and once versus the Panthers to end the day with 15 points. Kat Ramage had one try and two conversions for nine points, while Morgan McGonagle and Frankie Sands also found their names on the scoresheet.

"We dug deep on day one and put in our best performance against Central Washington, a very strong and dynamic team," Dowty said. "We are eager to work on playing consistently with that level of intensity and execution.

"We are especially proud of our three seniors - Rachel Hand, Morgan McGonagle and Frankie Sands - who showed so much leadership, resilience, determination and heart throughout the weekend in their final tournament for the Big Green."
