PRINCETON, N.J. – Ten Dartmouth student-athletes were honored with Academic All-Ivy recognition for the 2017-18 season announced by the league office Tuesday.

To qualify for a spot on the conference’s top academic team, these student-athletes have made major contributions to their teams while maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average. Three members of the class of 2018 were selected along with three juniors.

The Big Green’s 10 student-athletes are listed below in alphabetical order with key information: 

 

Devin Buffalo / Men’s Hockey / Senior / Wetaskiwin, Alberta / Government
- 3.10 GPA
- Won 15 games in net while earning Second Team All-Ivy League honors
- Finalist for the 2018 Hockey Humanitarian Award
 

Alvin Heumann / Men’s Squash / Senior / Southport, Conn. / Government
- 3.66 GPA
- Tri-captain, First Team All-American this year, second team last year, two-time First Team All-Ivy
- Won final match in Potter Cup to lead the team to its best final ranking (No. 5) in 14 years


Cy Lippold / Women’s Basketball / Junior / East Stroudsburg, Pa. / Linguistics
- 3.44 GPA
- Led the Ivy League with 5.3 assists per game, finished with 144 total for second in Dartmouth annals
- Second on the team in scoring with 12.3 points per game, fifth in the conference with 2.0 steals per game


Brian McLaughlin / Skiing / Senior / Topsfield, Mass. / Engineering
- 3.54 GPA
- NCAA champion in the giant slalom, three-time First Team All-American in his career
- Won eight career races, four this year, with 18 career podium finishes


Foreste Peterson / Skiing / Senior / Berkeley, Calif. / Environmental Studies
- 3.74 GPA
- Captain for women’s alpine team, two-time First Team All-American during career
- Won nine races in career with 24 podium stops, including nine this year, made World Cup debut last October


Emma Roberts / Women’s Squash / Junior / Wellesley, Mass. / Government
- 3.62 GPA
- Finished season with a 9-7 record mostly at No. 8, picked up wins against Penn and Brown
- Won all three of her matches in the Kurtz Cup


Henry Senkfor / Swimming & Diving / Senior / Pepper Pike, Ohio / Economics
- 3.78 GPA
- Team captain, competed in the finals of the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 back at the Ivy League Championship
- Earned an NCAA B cut time in the 200 IM


Caroline Shaunessy / Women’s Hockey / Junior / Duxbury, Mass. / Government
- 3.33 GPA
- Alternate captain, recorded six points (sixth on the team) on four goals and two assists
- Opened the year scoring in each of the first two games


Hayley Winter / Swimming & Diving / Senior / Grass Valley, Calif. / Film & Media Studies
- 3.28 GPA
- Team captain, competed in the finals of the 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free at the Ivy League Championship


Miles Wright / Men’s Basketball / Senior / Boston, Mass. / Sociology
- 3.08 GPA
- Co-captain, led the team in scoring with 12.3 points per game, lead the Ivy League in steals with 41 and ranked fifth in free throw percentage (.826)
- First player in Dartmouth history with 1,000 points, 400 rebounds, 100 three-point field goals and 100 steals
