This week's athletes had what it takes to clinch victories for their teams. Freshman Racquel Lyn went undefeated, leading the Big Green women's tennis team to the ECAC championship in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mike Fleming scored the game-winning bucket for the men's basketball team in a win over Ivy rival Brown.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Racquel Lyn went undefeated over the weekend, winning both of her singles and doubles matches to help Dartmouth defeat Brown and Columbia en route to claiming the 2017 ECAC Women’s Indoor Tennis Championship. Lyn’s 6-4, 7-5 victory over the Bears’ Katie Ta on the first day clinched the win over Brown. She followed up that win with a singles victory and a doubles win with junior Julia Schroeder over Columbia on Sunday.

Mike Fleming enjoyed the best night of his collegiate career on Feb. 11 at Brown, tallying a career-high 17 points, including the game-winning three-pointer with 55 seconds to play, as the Big Green defeated the Bears, 77-74. His first 14 points all came in the first half as his efforts kept Dartmouth close and allowed the team to go into the intermission trailing by just four. But after Brown erased an eight-point Big Green lead in under three minutes, Fleming provided the answer with his three-pointer from right in front of the Dartmouth bench. The defense then got two stops to preserve their first Ivy road victory of the season. Fleming also contributed five assists in the game, and for the week he hit 7-of-9 field goals and 4-of-6 three-pointers, averaging 11 points to go with seven assists and just one turnover.
