The theme this week was breaking the tie. The Big Green pulled out tiebreakers when needed for big wins in men's squash and women's hockey. Senior Glen Brickman won the deciding match for a 5-4 win at Princeton, while Kennedy Ottenbreit broke a 1-all stalemate with a goal in overtime against RPI.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Kennedy Ottenbreit, Sr., Grayson, Saskatchewan, F, Women's Hockey

After being tied since the first minute of the second period, Kennedy Ottenbreit ended the game against RPI on Saturday in dramatic fashion, shooting to the right when netminder Lovisa Selander was covering her left post after saving two shots before to give Dartmouth a 2-1 victory. The goal came just over a minute into overtime and 13 seconds into the power play.

Glen Brickman, Sr., Greenwich, Conn., Men's Squash

Last Saturday, the Dartmouth men’s squash team recorded a historic victory over Princeton, defeating the Tigers for just the second time since Ivy League play began in 1956-57. With the score tied 4-4, senior Glen Brickman was down 2-0 in the deciding match. However, he came back to win the last three games: 11-8, 14-12, 11-8, giving Dartmouth the overall victory in a thrilling finish.
