PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League office announced Monday afternoon that Dartmouth’s Lia Constantine has ben named the conference’s field hockey Rookie of the Week.

The Big Green freshman had her best individual week of her young career, while helping lead Dartmouth to a pair of victories in the process.

Constantine notched her first career goal at the perfect time on Wednesday, finding the back of the cage in the 62nd minute of play, breaking the 2-2 tie with what proved to be the game-winning goal.

The Fredericksburg, Virginia, native wasted little time in making her presence felt once again on the scoresheet as she tallied the first goal of Saturday’s Ivy win at Brown in just the eighth minute.

This marks the first time Dartmouth has claimed an Ancient Eight weekly accolade since Anna Ewasechko was tabbed as the player of the week on Oct. 27, 2015.

Additionally, junior goalkeeper Hailey Valerio was tabbed with a spot on the league's weekly Honor Roll for her stellar play in the Dartmouth cage.

Constantine and her teammates are back in action Saturday at Penn in their third of seven Ivy tilts this fall.
