HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s rowing retained the Parents’ Cup with a win over Cornell in the first varsity 8 on the Connecticut River Saturday morning.
The Big Green opened the morning with a victory in the second varsity (5:54.7), finishing just two seconds ahead of the Big Red (5:56.7). The host’s third varsity also took part, completing the course in 6:06.8.
Dartmouth had another close call in the varsity 8. Coxed by Katie Erdos and stroked by Sabrina Bohrer, the Green crew finished with a time of 5:49.7, leaving a two second gap between them and Cornell (5:51.8) to claim their second consecutive Parents’ Cup. Dartmouth now leads the series, 11-10.
Cornell won the varsity 4A and B races to wrap up the day. Dartmouth’s A crew rowed a 6:28.9, following just over a second behind Cornell. The Big Red’s B boat went a 6:43.3, out-finishing the Green, which clocked a time of 6:51.8.
Dartmouth will head to Worcester on Sunday for Sprints.
