HANOVER, N.H. – Junior Kate Griffiths was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) All-Region First Team. This is the second year in a row that she has been honored by the organization, after being selected to the second team last season.
Griffiths has stroked the first varsity each of her three years at Dartmouth. At the team's end-of-the-year banquet, she was given the Julia H. Geer '75 Award, which is presented annually to the woman who has made the most significant contribution to rowing at Dartmouth.
The All-Region awards recognize the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains from each of the five regions, organized into first and second-team selections.
Nominated student-athletes are elevated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coaches recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.
These athletes will be eligible for All-America awards selection following the NCAA Rowing Championship.
