HANOVER, N.H. – Seven members of the Dartmouth women's rowing team were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar Athletes for the 2017 season.
In order to be named a CRCA Scholar Athlete, the rower or coxswain must have a grade point average above 3.5, be in at least their second year of rowing and competing in NCAA-eligible boats for a minimum of 75 percent of the spring races.
Appearing on the list were Olivia Bono, Cara Cavanaugh, Simone Framson, Miranda Gish, Julia Granito, Nora Masler and Sophia Stone. Bono, Framson and Masler were all recognized for the second year in a row.
Seven Ivy League teams found their way on to the list. Columbia led with 11 athletes and was followed by Yale with nine. Dartmouth, Brown and Penn all had seven, while Princeton had three and Cornell had two.
All-Region award winners will be announced in the coming days.
