PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 5 Dartmouth men's squash team took down No. 13 Brown on Friday night in swift fashion, 7-2. The win improves the Big Green's season record to 10-4 with one remaining regular season game ahead.
In the first round, Dartmouth had the best possible start, with co-captains Alvin Heumann and Jack Harvey winning their matches in three games, followed by freshmen Sam Supattapone and James Bell also winning in three-game sweeps. Last on in the first round was Matt Giegerich, who started slow dropping the first two games, before finding his stride to eventually come through as the winner.
The second round saw senior Brian Giegerich and sophomore Brandon De Otaduy Nam win in 3-0 fashion, while junior Carson Spahr dropped his second game and came back to win in four. Freshman Reg Anderson matched up against a tough Bears opponent, who cracked the road team's game plan, as Anderson lost in five games. The last match of the day was freshman Toby Harding who put up a long battle with many long rallies, but eventually fell in four games.
The Big Green return to action on their home court Sunday afternoon, taking on Yale.
