HANOVER, N.H. – The eighth-ranked Dartmouth men’s squash team recorded a 9-0 shutout victory over No. 17 Williams at the Berry Squash Courts on Wednesday evening.

With the victory, the Big Green improve to 6-6, while the Ephs drop to 11-11

In the first round of matches, freshman Brandon De Otaduy amassed a 7-2 lead in the first game and then his opponent defaulted due to injury giving Dartmouth its first point of the day. Junior Brian Giegerich won his match with a decisive 3-0 victory, extending the Big Green lead to two points. Meanwhile senior Nick Harrington gained a two-game lead before his opponent pegged him back, taking the third in extra points. After falling in the fourth, Harrington dominated the fifth game for the win.

Junior Jack Harvey and sophomore Carson Spahr put down their opponents in straight games victories, while sophomore Matt Giegerich fought hard and took his match in a close four-game finish.

Dartmouth continued to play well in the final round, as senior Glen Brickman got things started with a quick, 3-0 win. Junior Alvin Heumann won his match at the number one spot in a hard fought four games. In the final match of the evening, sophomore Sam Epley sealed the team’s 9-0 victory with a closely contested 3-0 win.

The Big Green return to action on Friday when Dartmouth travels to Yale before hosting Brown on Sunday at 2 p.m.
