DURHAM, N.H. – The Dartmouth equestrian team furthered its lead in region with another win Saturday at New Hampshire.
Ten schools competed, with UNH taking second place and the Vermont taking third behind first-place Dartmouth.
Dartmouth’s Open Fences riders swept the first class of the day, with Olivia Champ finishing first, Lilly Higgins second, and Sophie Lenihan third, respectively. Senior Nathalie Ferneau also had a nice ride over fences, earning a third-place ribbon.
Dartmouth continued with more strong rides in the afternoon. Claire Bick and Sophie Lenihan earned second-place ribbons in Open Flat, followed by two more second-place finishes by Sarah Cohen in Intermediate Flat and Elle MacAlpine in Novice Flat.
Freshmen Mahalia Dalmage and Sophia Kocher each won their respective classes, claiming titles in Novice Flat and Beginning Walk-Trot-Canter. With her win, Kocher placed into Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter.
Finally, sophomore Alex Chen clinched the win for the Big Green in one of the last classes of the day with her first-ever first-place finish in Walk-Trot, furthering Dartmouth regional lead to fifteen points over the Catamounts.
