ITHACA, N.Y. – The Dartmouth equestrian team traveled to Cornell for the Ivy Championship Show this past weekend at the Oxley Equestrian Center.

Seven-of-the-eight Ivy League schools competed with the Big Green winning the overall Reserve Championship in second place. 

Cornell won the title with a perfect score.

The morning started off successfully with freshmen Lilly Higgins and Sophie Lenihan taking second and third place, respectively, in their Open Fences classes. Higgins was also selected to ride in the Open Fences championship, in which she placed fourth. 

In Intermediate Fences, senior Storey Dyer Kloman put on a strong performance and came in second place. Junior Staci Mannella and sophomore Erin McCarthy-Keeler ’19 also placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in Intermediate Fences. 

Senior Meg Rauner rode to victory in her Intermediate Flat class and qualified for the Intermediate Flat Championships, in which she placed fifth. Rauner’s success continued in her Novice Fences class, earning second. 

First-year rider Cameron Pfafle put on a strong performance in her Novice Fences debut, coming in second. She was also strong in Novice Flat, coming in third. 

Senior Cristiana Salvatori rode to victory in her Novice Fences class. This also qualified her for the Novice Fences championship, in which she claimed second. Junior Claire Bick placed fourth in Novice Fences as well.

The team’s strong performance in Novice continued, as senior Storey Dyer Kloman won her Novice Flat class. This ride qualified her for the Novice Flat championship, in which she also placed first. 

Freshman Meghan Poth placed second in her Novice Flat class, while sophomore Sophie King came in third. Fellow sophomore Sue Mohieldin also placed third in Walk Trot Canter. 

The team finished out the day with strong performances from second-year rider Holly Langley and senior Charlotte Johnstone, who took second and fourth, respectively, in their Walk Trot Canter class, and with a strong ride from rookie Alexandria Chen who placed third in walk trot.
