HANOVER, N.H. - Over half of the Dartmouth equestrian roster have qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Zone I, Region 2 Championship.
The regional championship show will be held on Saturday, April 1 at Dartmouth Riding Center at Morton Farm in Etna, New Hampshire, starting at 10:00 a.m.
The Big Green riders will be competing for a spot at the IHSA Zone I New England Equitation Championship by finishing in either first or second place in their respective classes at regionals.
The zone championships will be held on April 8 at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, starting at 8:30 a.m.
Dartmouth’s qualified riders are:
Sophie Lenihan in Open Fences
Olivia Champ in Open Flat and Open Fences
Claire Bick in Intermediate Flat
Sarah Cohen, Meg Rauner and Cristiana Salvatori in Novice Flat;
Storey Dyer Kloman in Novice Fences
Erin McCarthy-Keeler in Novice Flat and Novice Fences
Sophie King in Walk-Trot-Canter
Charlotte Johnstone and Holly Langley in Walk-Trot
Champ has also qualified for the prestigious Cacchione Cup competition by ending the year as the High Point Rider in the Open Division for Zone I, Region 2.
Her standing at the top of Region 2 earns her an automatic spot at the IHSA National Championship that will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, May 4-7.
