LEXINGTON, Ky. – A year after earning the first national championship in Dartmouth equestrian history, senior Anna Knowles pulled off a repeat performance by winning the 2016 IHSA Teresa McDonald Scholarship Challenge at the National Championships Saturday.

Freshman Erin McCarthy-Keeler finished in seventh place.

Knowles and McCarthy-Keeler earned the right to compete at Nationals after they earned the top scores in New England Zone I on a written equine care and health knowledge test which earned them the trip to Nationals to represent Zone I.

At Nationals, they competed in a hands-on practicum test along with the other 14 Zone champions. In the end, it was once again Knowles who stood out above the field.
