HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s hockey junior Christine Honor was named the NCAA First Star of the Week.
Honor had a career night against Quinnipiac on Friday, making an impressive 61 saves on 61 shots to earn her first career shutout and help the Big Green defeat the Bobcats, 1-0.
Not only was this a career-high for the Mississauga, Ontario, native, but it was also a program record and, best of all, an NCAA record for most saves in a shutout. The previous record of 60 had been held since Dec. 2, 2014, by Union’s Shanae Lundberg.
The program record of 59 was held by 2017 graduate Robyn Chemago since a game against Wisconsin on Nov. 28, 2015.
Dartmouth will be at home for nine home games in a row, starting with a pair of non-conference tilts against Maine on Saturday and Sunday.
