PRINCETON, N.J. – Members of the Dartmouth lightweight rowing team competed in the Princeton Chase on Sunday.
In the Varsity Lightweight 8+ final, the Big Green raced three boats in the 33-team field. The Dartmouth A squad finished in 11th place (13:16.688), two seconds ahead of Navy C (13:18.958) and Princeton C (13:19.532). The B team came in 17th (13:33.581) while the Big Green C boat finished 22nd (14:01.943).
Four teams hit the water for Dartmouth in the Varsity Lightweight 4+. The A boat came in 13th out of 30 (15:00.519), three seconds behind Princeton’s D squad (14:57.024). The Big Green’s B team was not far behind finishing 15th (15:03.120), while the C boat came in 18th (15:09.171) and the D boat in 23rd (16:28.356).
Dartmouth also had a lightweight boat in the Freshman 8+ final, a mix of 20 heavy and lightweight boats, that finished eighth (13:34.825), ahead of Delaware A lightweight (13:40.020) and Georgetown’s lightweight squad (13:50.111).
Next weekend the Big Green will host the Green Monster, a freshman-only regatta, in Hanover, wrapping up the fall season.
