HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 9 Dartmouth lightweight rowing team braved the elements on Sunday morning, racing No. 13 Mercyhurst on the Connecticut River in freezing rain and cold temperatures and ultimately falling to the Lakers.

In the second varsity, the road team took the win with an extremely close margin, only .50 (5:36.50) ahead of the Big Green’s first boat (5:37.00) as the home team raced its third varsity boat in the event as well, which came in third (5:57.91).

The first varsity event ended with Mercyhurst taking first again (5:32.35) with a bigger gap ahead of Dartmouth (5:35.87).

Next weekend the Big Green continue action at home, hosting Yale on Saturday morning for the Durand Cup.
