HANOVER, N.H. – This weekend the Dartmouth heavyweight and lightweight rowing teams will race at home for the first time this season.
The No. 9 heavyweight men will race No. 8 Boston University on Saturday morning, with the No. 9 lightweight crew hitting the water Sunday facing No. 13 Mercyhurst.
On Saturday heavyweight will get started at 9 a.m. with the fourth varsity in the first race. Sunday morning the lightweight team will get started at 9 a.m. as well, with the third varsity as the first event. Times are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
Information for spectators: It appears that the spectator area at the finish line will be accessible for the races this weekend, although significant precipitation or snow could cause the Town of Hanover to close the area. A shuttle bus will transport all spectators from the parking lot at the Dartmouth Rugby Clubhouse (9 Reservoir Road, Hanover, NH) to the viewing area near the finish line. No parking or drop-off is available at the spectator area.
The shuttle will depart the parking area at the Rugby Clubhouse at promptly at 8:15 a.m., 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Dogs are not allowed on the shuttle or at the spectator area per our contractual agreement with the Town of Hanover.
Please be aware that the pedestrian access path to the spectator viewing area is relatively steep with a gravel surface. Even in the best of conditions, caution is required going down the incline and the return walk up the slope can be phyiscally demanding.
