HANOVER, N.H. — The Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Assocation named its Nordic Skiers of the Week yesterday, and Dartmouth junior Taryn Hunt-Smith picked up the award among the female skiers following her performance at the NCAA Regional at the Middlebury Carnival.
The native of Anchorage, Alaska, finished sixth in the 5K Classical on Friday with a time of 14:08.7, just four seconds out of fifth place. The next day, she took seventh in the 15K Freestyle in 40:35.1.
Hunt-Smith concludes her winter with nine top-10 finishes, earning All-East Second Team honors for the second straight year as the seventh-ranked women’s cross-country skier in the region. Over the past two seasons, she has finished in the top 10 in all but two races in which she competed.
Dartmouth wraps up the winter at the NCAA Skiing Championships on March 7-10 at Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
