GALLOWAY, N.J. — The Dartmouth women’s golf team won three of the five match-ups with Lehigh and split the other two in defeating the Mountain Hawks, 4-1, to claim third place at the Checkmate Match Play Challenge hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson on the Pines Course at the Seaview Golf Resort on Sunday. The host Knights edged top-seeded Navy, 3-2, to win the event.

Senior Jessica Kittelberger wrapped up her match the quickest, beating Megan Moylan, 5 and 4. Classmate and captain Isabelle Kane picked up a win in a similar fashion, topping Angela Ding, 5 and 3, while freshman Julianne Strauch clinched the victory with a 3 and 2 triumph over Alexis Browne.

Both sophomore Maddie Nelson and junior Catharine Roddy halved with their opponents to add another point to the Big Green total for the largest margin of victory in any of the four team pairings.

Dartmouth beat Wagner, 3-2, in the first round of play yesterday morning, than was defeated by Navy in the afternoon, 5-0.

The Big Green play again next weekend when they travel to Sarasota, Florida, for the Harvard Invitational.
