CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Dartmouth men's swimming and diving opened the 2017 Ivy League Championship on Wednesday, swimming a pair of relays. The Big Green are currently in seventh place with 94 points, just two behind Brown in seventh.
To start the evening off, Dartmouth placed seventh in the 200-yard medley relay (1:32.09). Made up of Tony Shen, Timo Vaimann, David Harmon and Henry Patrick, the Big Green earned 46 points and swam their fastest time of the season.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Dartmouth was sixth (6:39.47). The relay – which was composed of Carter Jacobsen, Henry Senkfor, Josh Hendell and Shen – edged Brown by less than two-tenths of a second (6:39.66). The Big Green were just over a second off the school record.
Prelims on Thursday will commence at 11 a.m. with the swimming of the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 1-meter diving and 200 free relay.
