PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Saturday morning the No. 8 Dartmouth heavyweight rowing team traveled to face No. 4 Brown for the annual Atalanta Cup, coming in second to the host team, ahead of No. 17 George Washington who was an added participant in the regatta.

Dartmouth was able to take a win in the fourth varsity (6:03.39), edging Brown with eight seconds to spare (6:11.79) in the first event of the day.

The host team took the win in three races, beginning with the third varsity (5:38.10) finishing with a slim lead ahead of the Big Green (5:39.96) who finished second as the Colonials finished last (5:53.34). In the second varsity event, the Bears again took the win (5:31.42) just a couple seconds ahead of Dartmouth (5:33.08) who finished ahead of GW again (5:51.86).

In the deciding race Brown came out on top with a solid advantage (5:27.96) over the Big Green (5:34.02) as the visiting Colonials took third (5:40.86).

Next weekend Dartmouth hosts two final races before the Eastern Sprints in May, with Syracuse coming to Hanover for the Packard Cup on Saturday, and a race against Georgetown on Sunday morning.
